Wakeboarding

Temper Tantrum, Speedball, Hoochie Krypt, Whirlybird and Fakie.  What do these all have in common?  These are all insane wakeboarding tricks involving tricks, flips and spins all while rocketing up to 6 meters (20 feet) high off the wake of a boat travelling up to 56 kph (35 mph).  Not convinced this is an extreme sport?  Speak with Andrea Gaytan, four-time world champion wakeboarder who performed a krypt, which is a handstand in the air followed by landing backwards on the wake.  Give that a try.  Over the course of her career, Andrea sustained knee surgeries, a broken nose and herniated disks.  So, if you do it right, it’s extreme,  otherwise no points.

FICOR Score

(Fatality & Injury Classification of Risk)

Discipline : Wakeboarding
Severe Injury Rate of 1: X Participants
Fatality Rate of 1: X Participants

FICOR score is based on XDGE's proprietary scoring system

Minimum score to be considered for XDGE is 50, and the maximum is 100. This FICOR score is based on available data combined with XDGE's proprietary scoring system which weights several factors based on importance, including: insurance risk scores for the particular activity being evaluated, reaction time available as an adverse event unfolds, speed, height, depth, technical difficulty, ability to mitigate risk during activity, availability of backup equipment, involvment of other participants, location of activity, mental focus required, outcome resulting of most mishaps such as death or hospitalization, and a determination of the likelihood of having a major accident if that sport is done frequently.
